The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, revealed that it successfully deceived the Israeli occupation forces during recent operations involving the handover of prisoners’ bodies — a tactical move aimed at preventing the enemy from discovering the true locations where prisoners and the bodies of slain soldiers are held.
According to the statement, the occupation had been closely monitoring the recovery sites through aerial surveillance, adding those coordinates to its target bank and later bombing them after the completion of each handover operation.
To counter this pattern, Al-Qassam implemented a security deception strategy, misleading the occupation about the actual burial and storage points.
The Brigades also referred to footage circulated by the Israeli occupation, showing a drone recording Al-Qassam fighters burying a body bag in coordination with the Red Cross a few days earlier — footage that the occupation used as a pretext to launch fresh attacks on the besieged Gaza Strip.
However, Al-Qassam later released the authentic scene behind that footage, clarifying that its fighters had in fact filled the body bag with pillows and blankets, and removed it from a house in order to divert attention away from the real locations where the bodies of captured Israeli soldiers are kept.
The Brigades emphasised that it adheres to Islamic values and ethical standards in dealing with prisoners and the dead, rejecting the occupation’s claims that it had mistreated or disrespected the bodies, such as by discarding or reburying them in the soil.
