Sources have revealed a joint Emirati-Israeli funding initiative aimed at supporting Jusoor News — a media network financed by Abu Dhabi — with a clear directive: to prioritise coverage of armed gangs in Gaza and provide them with both visibility and protection through media narratives.

According to informed sources, Abu Dhabi and Tel Aviv have formed a joint operations cell following the announcement of a ceasefire in Gaza and the arrangements for “the day after the war.”
The cell’s goal is to create a protective media umbrella for the armed gangs operating in Gaza, shielding them from public accountability or any resistance operations that could threaten their existence.

Coordinated Media Support

This coordinated effort between Israel and the UAE has reportedly taken shape through targeted support of Emirati-funded media outlets, foremost among them Jusoor News.
Throughout the Gaza war, Jusoor News consistently echoed anti-resistance narratives, often amplifying Israeli propaganda against Palestinian resistance factions. Later, it began promoting the so-called “Yasser Abu Shabab gang” before expanding its coverage to smaller, similar groups.

In recent days, Jusoor News sparked widespread outrage after hosting Amina Abu Shabab, wife of Yasser Abu Shabab, who presents himself as “commander of the Popular Forces” in Rafah.
The interview attempted to humanise the wife of a known collaborator and rehabilitate her husband’s image, despite Israel itself confirming that Yasser Abu Shabab operates under direct Israeli military protection.

“Humanitarian Projects” Under Military Control

During the interview, Amina Abu Shabab spoke about what she called the “Humanitarian Zones Project”, a scheme funded by the UAE within areas under Israeli military control.
Observers have noted that Jusoor News’s decision to highlight her story is part of a media strategy to rebrand criminal networks as “local actors” or “stability advocates.” These portrayals are being marketed as humanitarian or civil initiatives in post-war Gaza, while simultaneously undermining the Palestinian resistance and accusing it of “internal security failures” — a tactic that weakens the popular front of steadfastness.

Since the emergence of the Abu Shabab gang, Jusoor News has actively circulated videos of their activities, including looting humanitarian aid convoys and military-style parades, framing these acts as symbols of strength rather than betrayal.

The network also aired the first video interview with Yasser Abu Shabab himself, during which he falsely claimed that his weapons belonged to his tribe. His tribe immediately issued a public statement disowning him and condemning his actions.

Protecting Collaborators and Suppressing Resistance

In the days following the U.S.-brokered ceasefire, Jusoor News launched a media campaign warning against any resistance response targeting collaborators and armed gangs, claiming such moves could trigger “civil war.”
This rhetoric serves as a deterrent to Palestinian accountability efforts, while amplifying the voices of gang leaders and reinforcing their continued presence under the guise of “security actors.”

In another report, Jusoor News claimed to possess “exclusive intelligence” explaining why Hamas did not claim responsibility for a security incident in eastern Rafah, attributing it to “internal disputes and coordination weaknesses” — all without any credible evidence.

A Platform with a Questionable Agenda

Jusoor News is widely recognised as a dubious media platform that regularly features figures linked to Israel or suspected of collaboration.
Its coverage echoes Israeli narratives, often blaming Palestinians for the consequences of war while whitewashing Israeli crimes and portraying the occupation as a stabilising force in Gaza.

Since its establishment, Jusoor News has been headed by Hadeel Oueis, a Syrian writer and journalist who was detained by the Assad regime at age 18 in 2011 for participating in early protests.
In 2012, with the assistance of a U.S. delegation in Geneva, Oueis relocated to Washington, where she began her media career.

Seeking influence and financial gain, Oueis eventually aligned herself with Israel and the Arab normalisation bloc, becoming one of the most prominent Arab voices supporting normalisation with the occupation.

She also maintains direct connections with the pro-Israel lobby in Washington, through her work as a trainer with the Washington Institute for Near East Policy (WINEP) — an organisation established in 1985 by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), the heart of the U.S. Zionist lobbying machine.
