After Hamas’ Response and Trump’s Welcome: Scenarios of the Trump Plan

When Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu stood together at a press conference in the United States, their words sounded like a death warrant for Gaza. The tone was triumphant, the message chilling: as if the Palestinian cause had been folded away and Gaza left to its fate.

Then Netanyahu deepened the wound. He released a series of triumphal and grotesque videos, flaunting what he called victory — enraging every conscience still alive to justice. Soon after, Trump threatened openly:

“If Hamas doesn’t sign the deal, we’ll make them taste hell.”

That night, grief swept through hearts across the Muslim world. Supporters of Palestine felt crushed and powerless. The mood was one of heartbreak and despair; many simply could not sleep.

A Decisive Meeting in Doha

As the pressure mounted, a critical meeting convened in Doha, the Qatari capital — attended by officials from Turkey, Egypt, and Qatar. The goal was clear: to strangle Hamas diplomatically and force it into one of two fates — surrender or annihilation.

Among the attendees were İbrahim Kalın, head of Turkish intelligence, his Egyptian counterpart, and senior Qatari envoys, meeting under tight security.

Meanwhile, Hamas held internal consultations with other resistance factions in Gaza, debating how to break the political and diplomatic siege, carve out breathing space, and buy precious time.

Hamas’s Resilience and the Diplomacy of Nations

Despite exhaustion after two years of war against one of the world’s most heavily armed militaries, Hamas displayed astonishing endurance. Its resources were drained, but its spirit remained unbroken.

The movement’s steadfastness met the diplomatic acumen of allied states, producing a brilliant solution: Trump’s proposal would neither be rejected outright nor accepted as is.

The plan would foil Israel’s attempt to isolate and criminalise Hamas while providing Gaza with room to manoeuvre, regroup, and prepare for the next phase.

This — at its core — was the essence of the manoeuvre: to transform a trap into a tactical advantage.

Rethinking the Captive File

In the negotiations, mediators told Hamas that the captive issue had shifted — from a powerful pressure card into a tactical burden. Israel’s relentless bombing and ground invasion continued despite the captives’ presence, proving Netanyahu had abandoned them long ago, using them only as a pretext for the aggression.

Trump’s speeches, and those of European leaders, revolved almost entirely around the captives — placing them at the centre of Western political and media discourse.

But Hamas asked a strategic question:

“What do we really lose if we release them?”

By agreeing to free all captives, Hamas would remove Israel’s pretext for invasion and expose Netanyahu’s war narrative. It would also shatter the Western label of Hamas as the “terrorist refuser of peace.”

Yet, Hamas did not accept Trump’s other demands; instead, it called for future negotiations — turning the move into a tactical gesture, not surrender.

High-Stakes Diplomacy and Precision Messaging

Once the main points were settled, Hamas drafted a meticulously worded statement — linguistically polished, politically sharp, even tailored to appeal to Trump’s ego.

A flurry of diplomacy followed.

  • Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan played a key role, followed by a call from İbrahim Kalın to Trump’s envoy Whitcoff, briefing him on Hamas’s position.
  • Both agreed that the response was a “golden opportunity to end the war.”
  • Then began the harder task — convincing Trump himself, against resistance from the Israeli lobby inside the White House and the Pentagon.

Qatar’s Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, personally phoned Trump, telling him that the proposal was “the best achievable solution.”
The next day, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan also called Trump, reinforcing the same message: the Doha outcome is the optimal path forward.

Realising that securing the captives could earn him a major political triumph — and perhaps the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony scheduled for December — Trump agreed.

The Turning Point: Influencing Trump

When Hamas publicly announced its offer, it shocked the global audience. The statement gained unprecedented international approval.

Netanyahu, convinced Trump would reject it, told aides as much. But within hours, Trump posted on his social media account:

“Hamas is ready for lasting peace and will release the captives. Israel must stop the bombing immediately.”

The White House confirmed that Trump would deliver a recorded address, even releasing an image of him mid-filming. The broadcast was briefly delayed when Whitcoff and Jared Kushner entered the room, followed by a frantic call from Netanyahu.

Rumours swirled that Trump would reverse course — but under Whitcoff’s pressure, he stood firm and released a short video confirming:

“Hamas’s offer is positive.”

The result: Hamas had broken the political siege, restored agency, and placed Israel on the defensive.

Hamas Becomes a Recognised Political Actor

Soon after, both Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance published Hamas’s full statement on their official accounts — a stunning diplomatic moment. The group long branded as “terrorist” was now being addressed as a formal interlocutor.

In diplomatic terms, that was a goal scored directly into Israel’s net.

Trump’s public call to “stop the bombing immediately” amounted to a direct order for Netanyahu to halt aggression.

Though Israel continued airstrikes at the time of writing, its official rhetoric shifted — gone was the tone of triumph.

Why Trump Accepted

Israeli media erupted. Headlines screamed:

“Trump sold Israel for a Nobel Prize.”

Cartoons depicted him in Hamas attire. Yet, for Trump, the move was a political masterstroke: he secured the release of the captives without Netanyahu achieving his goal of destroying Hamas.

With global outrage soaring — symbolised by movements like the “Freedom Flotilla” — the U.S. found its image deeply tarnished.

Behind Hamas’s statement stood a unified Arab-Islamic bloc: Qatar, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Jordan, lending it unprecedented legitimacy.

For Washington’s strategists, Hamas’s acceptance became a “golden moment for change.” Trump seized it — with one eye on his Nobel nomination expected on 10 October.

No Victory, No Defeat — A New Chapter

Gaza has received no bread, no bullets, no aid from 57 Muslim nations, nor from the wider world. Yet it has waged one of history’s most extraordinary resistance campaigns.

Now, Gaza pauses — to breathe, reorganise, and manoeuvre once again. Through a wise political decision, Hamas has reversed its image, regained psychological and moral initiative, and opened a new phase in a century-long struggle.

This is neither victory nor defeat, but the beginning of another stage in an enduring resistance — one that will concede neither land nor dignity.

Palestine today stands as the world’s symbol of freedom’s fight — and victory will belong to those who believe in it.

Kudos to Hamas on this! Men of Allah will always be wise because Allah(swt) is everly on their side, he guides them so he will continue to guide them to a resounding victory inshaAllah. The first victory that made me felt very happy, exited and proud was blatant rejection and humiliation meted out to the war criminal blood merchant Netanyahu by delegates at UNGA when they walked on him the moment he mounted the podium!
