Hebrew media reported that a Palestinian resistance fighter managed to infiltrate an advanced Israeli military post near the separation fence, opposite the Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza, engaging in direct clashes with the occupation soldiers stationed inside.
According to the reports, an Israeli officer sustained serious injuries, while two other soldiers were also wounded. The fighter was martyred during the exchange of fire.
This operation echoes a major attack carried out by the Al-Qassam Brigades about a month ago, targeting an Israeli military position southeast of Khan Younis. That assault involved fighters emerging from a tunnel to launch a surprise strike on occupation soldiers, killing and wounding several.
The scale of that earlier operation shocked the Israeli military, not only because of the number of fighters involved but also due to the point of entry. The resistance fighters emerged from the opening of a tunnel that the Israeli army had previously discovered and dismissed as unusable.
Al-Qassam later revealed that the tunnel had been used four times despite being detected by the occupation, and released footage showing fighters as they launched the operation, stormed houses where Israeli soldiers had taken cover, and later withdrew successfully from the site.
