A former Google employee, Gabriel Schubiner, has revealed that the tech giant signed contracts with the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to help promote propaganda and distort narratives surrounding the war on Gaza.
Schubiner explained that Google has been directly cooperating with the occupation through what is known as Hasbara — the organised Israeli propaganda apparatus. He stressed that while Gaza is enduring famine and mass suffering, the company has been amplifying false messaging crafted by Netanyahu’s office to mask these atrocities.
According to Schubiner, Google has been delivering an enormous number of ads globally that carry the narrative of the occupation alone. This coordinated effort ensures that Israel’s disinformation dominates the digital space, effectively silencing Palestinian voices and enabling the continuation of starvation policies against the people of Gaza.
He further highlighted that responsibility rests primarily with employees inside companies like Google and Amazon. By speaking out and applying internal pressure, staff can play a critical role in challenging and changing these unethical corporate policies.
Schubiner urged an immediate cancellation of such contracts with the occupation, stressing that as long as they remain in place, Big Tech companies will continue to be complicit in spreading Israeli propaganda and suppressing the truth about Gaza’s suffering.
