Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan declared on Friday that Turkey will not hand over even a pebble belonging to Jerusalem, let alone the historic Silwan Inscription, which Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently stirred controversy over.
Erdoğan referred to a video released days earlier in which Netanyahu explained his attempt to acquire the Silwan Inscription from Turkey.
“Those merchants of blood, with their latest delusions about me and about Jerusalem, must know that Turkey, with its growing strength, has become a source of hope for the oppressed and a cause of fear for the oppressors,” Erdoğan stated.
He continued:
“As you saw, one of them recently poured out his hatred against us because we refused to give them the Silwan Inscription, which is the trust of our ancestors. Do you know who I mean? Isn’t it clear?”
Erdoğan added:
“It seems he wanted to test something by using expressions that cross the limits regarding our first qiblah, al-Quds al-Sharif. Certainly, we know well what they are trying to do.”
Addressing what he called “the killers whose hands are stained with the blood of 65,000 oppressed people in Gaza,” Erdoğan stressed that “Jerusalem is the honour, dignity, and pride of Muslims, and of humanity as a whole.”
He underlined that defending Jerusalem is synonymous with defending peace and universal human values.
Erdoğan went on:
“Now, without shame, he seeks to obtain an inscription, but even that engraved stone — we will not give them a single pebble from al-Quds al-Sharif.”
He reminded his audience:
“Did Sultan Abdul Hamid give it to them? Were they able to take it from him? We are the grandchildren of Sultan Abdul Hamid. We walk the same path. As long as this soul is in this body, we will protect the trusts of our forefathers, and we will never withdraw our hand from Jerusalem.”
The Turkish president affirmed that Turkey will continue to defend the rights of Muslims and all faiths, even if the occupiers reject it.
“No matter how they scheme with their malicious conspiracies, we will continue our struggle until an independent and sovereign State of Palestine is established with Jerusalem as its capital within the 1967 borders,” he said.
He added with conviction:
“As it has been throughout history, tomorrow eternal peace will return to the Holy City, whose streets will flow with milk and honey. I am certain that Allah Almighty will grant us the honour of witnessing it.”
Erdoğan also praised the “brothers in Gaza” who have remained steadfast on their land despite the brutality they have endured for 23 months, asking Allah’s mercy upon the martyrs and a swift recovery for the wounded.

As much as I agree to Erdoğan’s stance, I find this leader to be an empty vessel. Only sound comes out but no action.. Shame on him and ALL, yes ALL leaders of the Muslim lands, who’ve sat on their little fat fingers and hoped this disgusting Satanic cult, quickly ‘finishes off’ its slaughtering so they can continue a life as usual, of oblivion. SubhaanAllah, we are so close to the latter days, or are in the latter days, that these leaders are deaf, dumb and blind to their responsibilities, their accountability as holding the welfare of their nations as an Eemaana. They haven’t a clue, not a speck of it. They mechanically mouth out a few words, whilst carrying on with ‘business as usual’! Absolute stomach wrenching hypocrisy.
It’s not these nations like Turkey, who will liberate our dogged nations, but rather the very small and ignored nations, who have no glitz nor massive egos. InshaAllah taAllah that will happen – soon Ya Rabil Alameen 🤲🏼
I may add. Muslim leaders are deaf, dumb, blind and stupid.
They are afraid of their own shadows after ruling their country with corruption, tyranny, torture, nepotism, croynism . Afraid their own people will overthrow them. So they ask the US and Israel to protect them. But look what happened to Qatar? Donated US400 jet to US yet Israel attacked them to killl Hamas leaders.
Please what is silwan inscription?
The Silwan inscription is an ancient rock-carved funerary text found in the Palestinian village of Silwan near Jerusalem, written in an early Semitic script and notable simply as part of the city’s multi-layered archaeological heritage preserved through centuries of Islamic and Ottoman care.
Can Turkey and other Islamic countries prove their sincerity by stopping Israel invade Gaza?
Don’t just talk. Talk is cheap
