Al Jazeera broadcast a video showing fighters from Saraya al-Quds — the military wing of Islamic Jihad — thwarting an Israeli special forces infiltration south of Gaza City late last month.
The footage documented the moment an Israeli airdrop operation began — according to the voice of a Saraya fighter — before clashes erupted with heavy gunfire. The video captured the sounds of takbir (chants of “Allahu Akbar”) as the operation was discovered and the Israeli unit forced to withdraw.
Following the battle, Saraya al-Quds displayed remnants of uniforms, military equipment, and communication devices marked in Hebrew, left behind by the retreating Israeli force.
Resistance Statement
A senior commander in Saraya al-Quds told Al Jazeera that fighters successfully repelled the infiltration attempt by Israeli special forces south of Gaza on 29 August, confirming that casualties were inflicted among “the enemy ranks.”
He explained that the vigilance of Saraya fighters foiled a significant Israeli intelligence operation in the area, stressing:
“The enemy’s continuous criminal attempts will always be met with full alertness — and our fingers remain on the trigger.”
The commander noted that resistance fighters constantly conduct complex security operations along Gaza’s frontlines, adding that new Israeli intelligence methods have been detected and will be exposed with documented evidence at the right time.
He further confirmed that Saraya fighters seized a range of Israeli military equipment during the clash — some of which has been documented publicly, while other items remain undisclosed for security reasons.

Since Israel launched its ground invasion of Gaza on 27 October 2023, Palestinian resistance factions have consistently documented their operations against occupation forces across various fronts.
