Abu Ubaida, the spokesman for the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), affirmed that the Palestinian resistance is on full alert to confront Israel’s plans to occupy Gaza City. He warned that such an invasion would be a disaster for the occupation’s political and military leadership, stressing that Israeli captives would remain alongside the fighters in the battlefield.
In a series of posts on Telegram Friday evening, Abu Ubaida declared:
“The enemy’s plans to occupy Gaza will be paid for with the blood of its soldiers, and—by the will of Allah—it will only increase the chances of capturing new soldiers.”
He confirmed that the resistance fighters are in a state of high readiness, morale, and steadfastness, vowing to present extraordinary models of heroism and sacrifice, and to teach the invaders harsh lessons.
Abu Ubaida accused “war criminal Netanyahu and his Nazi ministers” of deliberately seeking to reduce the number of their soldiers alive in captivity, and to ensure that the remains of many of their dead captives “disappear forever”—holding Israel’s army and “terrorist government” fully responsible.
A Message on Prisoners
The spokesman pledged that the Al-Qassam Brigades would safeguard Israeli captives as much as possible, but clarified that:
- They will remain alongside the mujahideen in combat zones, sharing the same risks and living conditions.
- Every captive killed by Israeli strikes will be announced by name, photo, and proof of death.
Earlier in the day, the Brigades confirmed carrying out a series of operations against Israeli forces and military vehicles in Gaza City’s Al-Zaytoun neighbourhood and in Jabalia, in northern Gaza.
Israeli Preparations for Gaza Assault
The Israeli army announced Friday that it had begun preparatory operations for its assault on Gaza City, continuing to target residential areas and crowds of starving civilians, leaving dozens martyred.
Since August 11, Israel has launched intense air raids and demolitions in the neighbourhoods of Shuja’iyya, Al-Zaytoun, and Al-Sabra, as well as in Jabalia, under the banner of Operation Gideon’s Chariots 2. The campaign aims to occupy Gaza City and force its residents southward.
Genocide in Gaza
Backed by the United States, Israel has waged a war of extermination against the people of Gaza since October 2023. This includes killings, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, in defiance of international appeals and the rulings of the International Court of Justice.
According to the latest figures from the Gaza Ministry of Health, the war has resulted in:
- Over 63,000 martyrs
- 159,000 wounded
- 322 deaths from starvation, including 121 children
