The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, released on Monday new footage showing their fighters targeting Israeli soldiers and military vehicles with explosive devices and heavy mortar fire in Jabalia al-Balad, north of the Gaza Strip, as part of their ongoing operations under the banner of “David’s Stones.”
The newly released video shows Al-Qassam fighters preparing improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and planting them along the path of advancing Israeli military vehicles in the streets of Jabalia al-Balad, before detonating them as the occupation forces pushed forward.
Following the explosions, the fighters unleashed heavy-calibre mortar shells on the site of the attack, intensifying their response to the Israeli forces that have been invading the city for weeks, systematically demolishing residential neighbourhoods and destroying vital infrastructure in a campaign of devastation.
This is the second video published by Al-Qassam within hours. On Sunday, the Brigades had released earlier footage showing similar operations against Israeli soldiers and vehicles in the southern Gaza Strip.
According to Al-Qassam, the latest footage documented the shelling of Israeli military gatherings and positions in the areas of Khan Younis and the Salah al-Din axis in southern Gaza, also under the “David’s Stones” operations.
The recordings included direct hits on Israeli bulldozers, tanks, and armoured personnel carriers inside Khan Younis. Al-Qassam fighters, together with resistance fighters from Saraya al-Quds (the military wing of Islamic Jihad) and the Al-Nasser Salah al-Din Brigades, targeted Israeli troop concentrations with mortar fire.
Earlier, the Al-Qassam Brigades announced that they had struck an Israeli command-and-control centre south of the Gaza Strip, in partnership with Saraya al-Quds. The joint statement confirmed that fighters bombarded the command site, located near the court complex south of Khan Younis, with multiple mortar shells.
Information Blockade on Israeli Losses
International reports confirm that the Israeli military enforces strict censorship on its media, prohibiting publication of details regarding casualties and material losses from Palestinian resistance strikes. Analysts note this is intended to maintain Israeli public morale and conceal the extent of battlefield losses.
Resistance Operations Amid Genocide in Gaza
These operations come as part of the Palestinian resistance’s response to the ongoing genocide in Gaza, launched by the Israeli occupation army with direct American support since October 7, 2023. The war has included indiscriminate killing, starvation, mass destruction, and forced displacement, in open defiance of international calls and rulings by the International Court of Justice demanding an end to the aggression.
The genocide has so far resulted in:
- 61,827 Palestinian martyrs
- 155,275 wounded, the majority being women and children
- Over 9,000 missing persons
- Hundreds of thousands displaced
- 251 deaths from famine, including 108 children
