The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas, announced that its fighters carried out a series of attacks and ambushes targeting Israeli occupation forces advancing deep inside the Gaza Strip.
In an official statement, Al-Qassam revealed:
“On Wednesday morning, our fighters successfully executed a complex ambush against a Zionist force in the Al-Bar’asi area, south of the Al-Zaytoun neighbourhood, south of Gaza City.”
According to the statement, the resistance fighters targeted a group of occupation soldiers barricaded inside a house with a TBG anti-armour shell, and simultaneously opened fire with machine guns at an enemy sniper positioned inside another house.
They further reported striking two Israeli armoured personnel carriers with fedayeen explosive devices placed inside the driver’s compartment, and destroying a third Namer armoured vehicle using a Yasin-105 anti-tank shell.
Al-Qassam added that during the fighters’ withdrawal from the ambush site, they also targeted two additional houses where Israeli soldiers were hiding, using tandem warheads and Yasin-105 shells. The fighters confirmed that the ambush resulted in killed and wounded occupation soldiers.
Escalating Resistance Operations
This latest ambush follows earlier operations on Monday, when the Al-Qassam Brigades launched missile strikes against strategic Israeli military sites in the Gaza Strip, in retaliation for the genocidal war waged by the occupation for nearly 22 months.
The Brigades stated that their fighters targeted an Israeli command-and-control site on Tell al-Sawrani, east of Al-Tuffah neighbourhood in Gaza City, by firing multiple mortar shells.
In a second operation the same day, they struck another Israeli command-and-control site on the Salah al-Din axis, near Tellat Zaarab in southern Rafah, using a short-range 114mm rocket system.
No Israeli Acknowledgement – Resistance Continues
The Israeli occupation army has issued no official statement regarding these operations. Meanwhile, Palestinian resistance factions continue to confront the ongoing Israeli aggression and genocide against the Gaza Strip as part of the “Al-Aqsa Flood” battle, a campaign that has redefined the frontlines of the conflict.
