Despite Israel’s public claims that it is merely “preparing” a timetable to fully occupy Gaza City, field information obtained by our sources confirms that the plan is already in motion—well before any official announcement or media disclosure.
On Wednesday, the Israeli army’s Chief of Staff, Herzi Halevi, approved the “central concept” of a plan to reoccupy the entire Gaza Strip. The blueprint involves the forcible displacement of Gaza’s residents to the south, the demolition of homes and infrastructure, and the complete flattening of the city—mirroring the destruction already carried out in other parts of the Strip.
Systematic Destruction and Forced Displacement
Journalistic sources and eyewitnesses in Gaza report that Israeli forces have been advancing into the south-eastern neighbourhoods of Gaza City for several days. The incursions have been accompanied by intense shelling, large-scale demolitions, and the targeting of vital infrastructure.
The Al-Zaytoun neighbourhood, in particular, has been subjected to unprecedented bombardment and demolition for days, with residents forced to flee westward into already overcrowded displacement zones. This is part of the occupation’s Gaza takeover plan—publicly denied but clearly evident on the ground.
Eyewitnesses confirm that over 300 homes have already been destroyed in Al-Zaytoun, especially in areas east of Salah al-Din Street, around Ali Mosque, al-Musalaba Junction, Street 8, Totooh Street, and other inner sections of the neighbourhood. Al-Zaytoun borders what is now called the “Netzarim Axis” to the north—an Israeli military corridor that cuts Gaza in two.
The destruction has also extended to Al-Sabra neighbourhood, which lies to the west of Al-Zaytoun. Occupation forces have been deliberately targeting inhabited homes there, aiming to empty the neighbourhood of its remaining residents in preparation for its total destruction.
Airstrikes on Civilians and Humanitarian Collapse
Eyewitnesses and journalists told Arabi21 that Israeli forces maintain complete aerial fire control over Al-Zaytoun and large parts of Al-Sabra, spreading fear and panic to drive civilians from their homes.
In recent hours, Israeli warplanes bombed inhabited houses in Al-Sabra while families were inside, killing and injuring dozens. Rescue and civil defence crews have been unable to reach the victims due to relentless bombardment.
Global Outrage Over Re-Occupation Plan
The plan to re-occupy Gaza has triggered both official and public condemnation worldwide, with warnings that it will lead to further massacres of Palestinians amid the ongoing campaign of genocide and starvation.
Israel previously occupied Gaza for 38 years—from 1967 to 2005. Today, the enclave is home to approximately 2.4 million Palestinians and has been under a suffocating blockade for the past 18 years.
Since October 2023, the Israeli occupation has been committing an ongoing genocide in Gaza—marked by mass killings, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement—while ignoring every international call and defying binding International Court of Justice orders to halt its crimes.
