According to eyewitnesses and circulating reports, the passenger—visibly distressed—began crying and walked through the aisle pleading to be let off the plane as it was taxiing on the runway. Amid this emotional breakdown, another passenger suddenly slapped him, an act that was caught on video and widely circulated across social media, igniting widespread public anger.
Immediate Arrest and Airline Response
The attacker was immediately identified, labelled as an unruly passenger, and handed over to security authorities upon landing. IndiGo Airlines issued a statement condemning the act, confirming that they would proceed with disciplinary measures in line with aviation regulations.
