Saraya Al-Quds, the military wing of Islamic Jihad, has released footage showing one of its snipers targeting an Israeli occupation soldier in the Jabal Al-Sourani area, east of Al-Tuffah neighbourhood in Gaza City.
The video shows an Israeli soldier positioned at what Saraya described as a newly established site. While he was observing from behind an earthen berm, the sniper fired directly at him, striking him and causing him to collapse instantly.
Separately, two Israeli soldiers were wounded on Friday after an anti-tank missile was fired at a tank in the northern Gaza Strip.
The Israeli Army Radio stated: “Two soldiers were injured, one lightly and one moderately, when an anti-tank missile was fired at a tank in northern Gaza.”
On Friday, the Israeli occupation army also announced the killing of an officer from the Golani Brigade during clashes in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza, marking its latest casualty in the ongoing ground operations since the genocide war resumed following the temporary ceasefire in March.
In an official statement, the army said that Captain Re’i Biran (21), a unit commander in Golani, was killed on Thursday during “combat operations in the south of the Strip,” without providing further details on the nature of the engagement or whether other soldiers were killed or wounded.
This announcement comes just two days after the army confirmed the death of First Sergeant Abraham Azulai, a reservist operating engineering equipment in Khan Yunis, who Al-Qassam Brigades attempted to capture. The video released by the Brigades exposed the falsity of the occupation army’s narrative, which had claimed Azulai resisted the capture attempt — the footage revealed that he fled the scene despite carrying two M4 rifles and a personal handgun.
According to Yedioth Ahronoth, the number of Israeli army fatalities since the end of the temporary ceasefire in March has risen to 41 soldiers, bringing the total number of soldiers killed since the war began on 7 October 2023 to 890, including 448 killed in ground battles.
