Hebrew accounts have circulated footage said to show the ambush in which Israeli occupation forces were caught in Beit Hanoun, northeast of the Gaza Strip, a few days ago — an operation that resulted in five soldiers killed and 16 others wounded, including some in critical condition.
The footage shows two bulldozers and a tank moving through the area, along with a large number of soldiers, before some of them begin to drop to the ground — apparently due to either an explosive device or direct gunfire targeting them.
The scene quickly descended into chaos, with some of the wounded left alone on the ground before being evacuated. Intense gunfire erupted from the soldiers, while others scrambled to find places to hide.
During the confusion, the tank pulled back in the direction of fleeing soldiers, and one of the bulldozers nearly fell into a low-lying area while attempting to withdraw under the pressure of fierce clashes.
Hebrew media described the ambush as a “living hell” for the soldiers, revealing that four explosive devices detonated in a coordinated manner at the site — some of them remotely activated — which led to the heavy losses within the occupation army ranks.
Al-Qassam Brigades spokesperson Abu Ubaida stated that the occupation will suffer further losses in the war of attrition that the brigades are waging across the Gaza Strip — his first comment on the Beit Hanoun ambush that killed five soldiers.
Abu Ubaida added: “Even though the occupation recently managed to rescue its soldiers from the inferno by a miracle, it may fail next time — and they will end up as additional captives in our hands.”
He continued: “The complex Beit Hanoun operation is another blow dealt by our valiant fighters to the so-called prestige of the fragile occupation army and its most criminal units, in a battlefield they believed was secure after leaving no stone unturned.”
He stressed: “It is the steadfastness of our people and the courage of our brave resistance fighters alone that shape the equations and define the coming phase. The most foolish decision Netanyahu could make now is to keep his forces inside the Gaza Strip.”
