Our platform has obtained exclusive images of two ambush operations carried out by Al-Qassam Brigades — the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) — in Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip. These operations, part of the “Hajarat Dawood” (David’s Stones) series, resulted in the killing of Israeli soldiers and the destruction of tanks and military vehicles.
The footage shows Al-Qassam fighters raiding Israeli vehicles and soldiers in the Al-Mahatta area in central Khan Younis on Friday. They targeted two Merkava tanks at point-blank range using “Shawaz” explosive charges.
The fighters also struck an Israeli armoured personnel carrier with an “Al-Yaseen 105” rocket-propelled grenade before engaging in clashes with an Israeli rescue force that arrived at the scene.
Close-Range Clashes
Four Al-Qassam fighters infiltrated between destroyed houses during daylight hours until they reached the movement route of an armoured personnel carrier and a tank. One fighter stated that these belonged to the Israeli army’s Third Company before another tank appeared nearby.
One fighter advanced in an open area, carrying a Shawaz charge, approaching the Israeli tank until he reached it and detonated the device at point-blank range. He then retreated to a demolished house where other fighters were positioned. Moments later, the second vehicle exploded as another fighter shouted “Allahu Akbar… it’s burning!”
Another fighter then detonated a different vehicle and returned to his comrades. They all withdrew from the area under heavy fire from Israeli soldiers and armoured vehicles.
Subsequently, the fighters appeared exchanging fire from inside a house with the Israeli rescue force that arrived just meters away. The footage shows they hit an Israeli soldier directly next to his tank.
On Friday, the Israeli army confirmed the deaths of two of its soldiers — one in the north and another in the south of Gaza — and said four others were wounded, including two in serious condition and a company commander.
The footage also showed the targeting of three armoured personnel carriers in the Al-Mujamma Al-Islami area and Al-Bee’a Street in central Khan Younis last Thursday. Fighters emerged from a ruined house, targeted the vehicles, and clashed with soldiers using light weapons.
Islamic Jihad’s Al-Quds Brigades Operation
Earlier today, Al-Quds Brigades — the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement — released footage documenting the detonation of an explosive device against an Israeli military vehicle and the capture of drones east of Khan Younis, southern Gaza.
Over the past two months, Palestinian resistance factions have intensified their operations, killing and wounding significant numbers of Israeli soldiers. According to the Israeli daily Yedioth Ahronoth, June was the deadliest month for the Israeli army since the start of the year, with 20 soldiers and officers killed out of 32 who have died since Israel resumed its war in March.
Turkey’s Anadolu Agency, citing Israeli army radio, reported that the number of Israeli army fatalities since the beginning of the ground invasion of Gaza on October 27, 2023, has risen to 440 officers and soldiers, in addition to 6,032 wounded — 2,745 of them injured during ground battles inside Gaza.
Kisufim Rocket Attack
Meanwhile, the Israeli army said today, Saturday, that its defence systems intercepted two rockets fired from southern Gaza towards the Kisufim area, triggering sirens but causing no casualties. Yedioth Ahronoth reported that the rockets were launched from Khan Younis.
With these two rockets, the resistance has fired six rockets towards the Gaza envelope since the beginning of this month, and 60 rockets since Israel renewed its war on the Strip on March 18.
The Palestinian resistance resumed its rocket barrages toward Israel on March 20, initially targeting Greater Tel Aviv, then launching further salvos towards Ashdod, Ashkelon, and Beersheba.
