The Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas, on Saturday evening released video footage documenting attacks on Israeli soldiers and military vehicles in central Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip. These operations are part of a series dubbed “Hajarat Dawood” (David’s Stones).
According to Al-Qassam, its fighters raided a gathering of Israeli soldiers and vehicles on Friday in central Khan Younis, targeting two Merkava tanks using “Shawaz” explosive charges.
The footage shows an Al-Qassam fighter advancing towards an Israeli tank, placing a sticky explosive device, withdrawing quickly, and the tank exploding moments later. The video captures the burning vehicle while Al-Qassam fighters chant “It’s burning.”
Earlier Raids and Confirmed Casualties
Earlier, Al-Qassam Brigades announced that its fighters had killed and wounded Israeli soldiers after raiding a gathering of occupation forces, targeting two tanks, an armoured personnel carrier, and a rescue force in southern Gaza.
In a statement published Saturday, Al-Qassam confirmed:
“Our fighters raided a gathering of enemy soldiers and vehicles near the Directorate of Education in the Al-Mahatta area, central Khan Younis, southern Gaza, on Friday morning.”
The statement added that fighters managed to “target two Zionist Merkava tanks with Shawaz charges — through martyrdom-style attacks — killing and injuring their crews, and also targeted an armoured personnel carrier with an “Al-Yaseen 105” rocket.”
Upon the arrival of an Israeli rescue force, Al-Qassam said its fighters struck the force with light and medium weapons, noting that they observed Israeli helicopters landing for evacuation, an operation that continued for several hours.
In a subsequent update, Al-Qassam stated that it targeted another armoured personnel carrier with an Al-Yaseen 105 rocket on Friday along Al-Bee’a Street in central Khan Younis.
Additional Attacks in Jabalia
In another statement, Al-Qassam confirmed that its fighters targeted an Israeli foot patrol with an RPG round and engaged in gun battles with light weapons east of Jabalia in northern Gaza on June 29, 2025.
The group also reported that its fighters struck three Israeli Merkava tanks with Shawaz charges in martyrdom-style operations, and launched a Tandem rocket east of Jabalia on June 30, 2025.
These operations, according to Al-Qassam, are part of the Palestinian resistance’s response to what they describe as Israel’s ongoing genocide against the people of Gaza. This war has included killings, starvation, destruction, and mass displacement since October 2023, in defiance of international calls and rulings by the International Court of Justice to halt the aggression.
Israeli Army Casualties and Censorship
On Friday, the Israeli army acknowledged the deaths of two of its soldiers and the serious injury of two others in battles with Palestinian resistance forces in the north and south of the Gaza Strip.
Israel continues to conceal most of its battlefield and material losses, prohibiting filming, the sharing of images and footage, and the release of any casualty details except through tightly controlled official channels.
Since the start of this war, more than 193,000 Palestinians have been killed or wounded — the vast majority of them women and children — with more than 10,000 missing, hundreds of thousands displaced, and widespread famine claiming the lives of many, including dozens of children.
