Al-Quds Brigades have released dramatic footage of an ambush they carried out last Wednesday in the Shuja’iyya neighbourhood, east of Gaza City. According to the occupation’s own admissions, the operation resulted in two soldiers killed and eight others wounded, some critically.
The footage shows the fighters meticulously preparing the ambush plan, planting several heavy explosive devices within a minefield to target occupation vehicles as they advanced.
The fighters detonated the minefield under the vehicles, creating chaos among the Israeli soldiers and forcing them to flee into nearby residential homes for cover. Meanwhile, the resistance fighters had set up secondary ambushes targeting these retreating forces.
During the operation, the fighters fired a 107 rocket towards a unit sheltering inside one house, setting it ablaze. They also launched anti-fortification shells at another house where occupation soldiers were barricaded, engaging them in close-range clashes with automatic weapons.
The Al-Quds Brigades confirmed that their fighters withdrew safely after the ambush, leaving multiple Israeli soldiers dead or wounded.
Al Jazeera quoted the commander of the Shuja’iyya ambush, who said they had tracked the targeting of around 40 officers and soldiers during the attack, with casualties ranging from dead to severely injured.
He added that resistance fighters witnessed charred corpses of enemy soldiers and officers, emphasising that the occupation is concealing the true scale of its losses at the hands of the Gaza resistance.
