Israeli forces carried out an airborne operation at dawn on Friday in the Yafour area, located about 10 kilometres south of central Damascus, and infiltrated Lebanese territory where they blew up buildings.
Local sources told Anadolu Agency that Israeli helicopters conducted an airdrop in Yafour at approximately 3:00 AM.
According to the local news outlet Ahrar Horan Gathering, an Israeli unit consisting of three vehicles also entered a former military outpost belonging to the defunct 112th Brigade of the Syrian regime, situated on the outskirts of Ain Dhikr village in the Yarmouk Basin.
As of Friday afternoon, the reasons for the Israeli forces’ brief presence in Yafour remain unclear.
In addition, Israeli military units advanced into the Rakhla area near the Lebanese border in western Syria for the first time.
The Israeli army also entered the village of Saisun in Syria’s Daraa province with six military vehicles and carried out a patrol, according to local sources.
Israel has previously conducted similar airborne operations in various parts of Syria as part of its continued attacks on Damascus’ sovereignty since the fall of the Assad regime on 8 December 2024.
Separately, in Lebanon, the occupation army shelled an inhabited house near Tallet Shawat in the town of Aita al-Shaab at dawn, causing further damage to the property, which had already been targeted multiple times before with stun grenades, according to the Lebanese National News Agency.
Additionally, an Israeli infantry unit infiltrated Lebanese territory around midnight on Thursday–Friday, reaching a laundry factory building owned by a local resident. The unit disabled the factory’s security cameras, rigged the site with explosives, and completely demolished it.
The National News Agency reported that the occupying forces blew up the factory in Mais al-Jabal, which had previously been destroyed during the last war and was recently rebuilt by its owner.
