Several Hebrew media outlets reported on Friday morning that a number of Israeli occupation soldiers were killed and injured in a resistance ambush in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, after the building they were operating in collapsed on top of them.
According to those sources, some Israeli soldiers remain trapped under the rubble, and the security operation is still ongoing. Meanwhile, since dawn on Thursday, 52 Palestinians have been martyred in intense and indiscriminate Israeli airstrikes that targeted multiple areas across the besieged Gaza Strip.
The Israeli army later confirmed the death of three soldiers—all with the rank of Staff Sergeant—during battles in northern Gaza on Monday. The casualties were the result of a direct hit on a military Humvee vehicle in Jabalia, which was targeted by the resistance. In the same attack, two Israeli firefighters were also injured.
On Thursday, Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, announced that it had carried out two operations in Khan Younis, in addition to a complex ambush in eastern Jabalia, north of Gaza, which resulted in multiple Israeli fatalities and injuries.
In an official statement, Al-Qassam detailed:
“The ambush took place last Sunday near the eastern line in the vicinity of the al-Mabhouh outpost. Our fighters used IEDs, rocket-propelled grenades, and engaged in close-quarters combat with Israeli forces using automatic rifles.”
Meanwhile, Saraya al-Quds, the military arm of Palestinian Islamic Jihad, confirmed it had successfully detonated an Israeli military vehicle in southern Khan Younis.
Hospitals across Gaza have reported that since Thursday at dawn, 52 Palestinians were killed, including children and journalists, as the Israeli occupation intensified its airstrikes on civilian areas.
As the Israeli military campaign of annihilation continues with complete disregard for international law and human rights, the skies of Gaza still echoed with the Takbirat of Eid al-Adha — a symbol of steadfastness and faith amid slaughter and siege.
Simultaneously, the Israeli occupation forces demolished several residential homes in al-Qarara, northeast of Khan Younis, and conducted heavy artillery shelling in northern Nuseirat camp in central Gaza.
In a particularly brutal strike, an Israeli drone targeted a group of displaced civilians near the al-Shifa Tower in western Gaza City, killing five people and wounding dozens — most of them children and women.
The genocidal war waged by the Israeli occupation, with full U.S. support, has so far resulted in more than 180,000 Palestinians killed or wounded, the vast majority of whom are women and children. The toll includes over 11,000 missing persons and hundreds of thousands displaced, with famine claiming the lives of many — including infants and young children.
