The Palestinian resistance in Gaza continues to carry out successful operations against Israeli forces. On Saturday, resistance factions announced a well-executed ambush in northern Gaza, as well as the detonation of an Israeli military vehicle in eastern Khan Younis, southern Gaza.
The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), confirmed that following a recent engagement, its fighters had lured a foot patrol of Israeli occupation soldiers into a tight ambush in the Atatara area of Beit Lahia, in northern Gaza.
“After returning from the frontlines,” Al-Qassam fighters reported, “our units successfully engaged the invading force at point-blank range using light weapons.”The ambush occurred on 27 May 2025, resulting in multiple Israeli casualties, both killed and wounded.
Khan Younis: Resistance Explosive Destroys Military Vehicle
Meanwhile, Saraya Al-Quds, the military arm of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, released video footage of a high-powered barrel IED (improvised explosive device) planted and detonated beneath an Israeli military vehicle during its incursion into eastern Khan Younis.
In another segment, Saraya fighters are seen rigging and detonating a residential building where an Israeli force had taken cover in eastern Shuja’iyya, a neighbourhood in Gaza City.
Rafah Operation: Ambush on Israeli Undercover Unit
On Friday, Al-Qassam Brigades also broadcast video evidence of an ambush targeting an undercover Israeli unit (mistaravim) during a sweep operation in eastern Rafah.
The footage shows heavily armed Israeli soldiers raiding homes in the area before being hit by a remote-detonated explosive device planted by resistance fighters. The explosion led to several confirmed casualties.
Joint Resistance Operation in Khan Younis
Later the same day, Al-Qassam issued a joint statement with Saraya Al-Quds, declaring a coordinated operation targeting an Israeli unit entrenched inside a residential structure in the European Housing complex, southeast of Khan Younis.
Resistance fighters used:
-
- A TBG anti-fortification warhead,
-
- An anti-personnel projectile,
…successfully inflicting fatalities and injuries among the soldiers. Clashes in the area were reported to be ongoing.
Operation “Stones of David” – Close-Range Anti-Tank Strike
Al-Qassam also confirmed that the attack is part of Operation Stones of David (Hijarat Dawood). During the operation, fighters:
-
- Targeted a group of Israeli tanks
-
- Fired a Yassin-105 anti-tank rocket at point-blank range, striking a tank that had a soldier on top
The hit triggered a massive explosion, engulfing the tank in flames.
These operations mark a continuing escalation in direct combat between Palestinian resistance fighters and the Israeli occupation forces. The videos released aim to document the tactical effectiveness, bravery, and coordination among Gaza’s resistance factions despite relentless bombardment and ground incursions.
