In a chilling message that has sparked widespread discussion, a document allegedly written by the young man involved in the Washington incident has surfaced—drawing a direct link between his actions and Israel’s brutal war on Gaza, as well as American complicity in what he described as war crimes.
According to the Israeli outlet Israel Hayom, blogger Ken Kiebelstein confirmed the document’s authenticity based on its signature and timestamp. Other experts who reviewed excerpts shared the same conclusion: this was a real and deliberate message.

The letter, dated 21 May, reportedly written by Rodríguez, is now under official investigation, as confirmed by The New York Post. In it, he denounces Israel’s military actions in Gaza and holds the United States accountable for its continued support of what he described as “unprecedented war crimes in modern history.”
Rodríguez wrote:
“Armed action is not necessarily military in nature. It is often a form of theatre, and in that sense, it shares much with unarmed protest.”
He continued:
“Those of us who oppose genocide have surrendered part of our humanity—but in a world where inhumanity has become disturbingly normal, even mundane, what choice is left?”
His words echo the voices of many across the globe who have been disturbed by the mass killing of civilians, the targeting of hospitals and refugee camps, and the complete siege of Gaza.
From “Protective Edge” to Present Day
Rodríguez cited Operation Protective Edge—Israel’s 2014 assault on Gaza—as the moment he first began to awaken to the cruelty inflicted upon the Palestinian people. In his message, he called his final act an “ethical decision”, not madness or hate.
He explained:
“Humanity does not exempt one from accountability. Even back then, it became clear to me that what was happening to Palestinians was a form of cruelty we had grown desensitised to.”
He reflected on how those who resist genocide often find comfort in believing that perpetrators have “lost their humanity”—but warned against this as a mental escape:
“I understand why people say it—it helps them sleep. But in reality, inhumanity has become banal. Tragically ordinary. Hollowly human.”
“Free Palestine” — The Final Words
Rodríguez concluded his letter with both a sense of finality and deep emotional conviction:
“I am glad that, at least today, many Americans can understand this act. In some twisted way, it feels like the only sane thing to do. I love my parents, my sister, and my family… Free Palestine.”
His words are not just a personal farewell, but a stark reflection of a generation’s frustration with silence, complicity, and moral collapse in the face of genocide.
Editorial Note
At SunnaFiles, we do not glorify violence. But we acknowledge context, especially when global superpowers ignore the cries of the oppressed and brand any opposition as extremism. Rodríguez’s letter is a reminder that when justice is denied, and the world looks away, some choose to scream in ways the world cannot ignore.
His message—uncomfortable, raw, and piercing—joins a growing archive of moral dissent in the face of colonial occupation and imperial hypocrisy.
