Earlier this month, Israeli media highlighted growing concern in Tel Aviv over the rapid progress of nuclear negotiations between Washington and Tehran, and the increasing likelihood of a new agreement.
Channel 12 reported that “Tel Aviv is becoming increasingly alarmed at the swift developments in nuclear talks between the U.S. and Iran, with signs pointing toward Washington moving closer to finalising a deal.”
Israeli officials insist the U.S. still requires their consultation and believe they can exert influence through Congress and Republican allies. However, there is a growing sense within Israeli leadership that negotiations are advancing too quickly for Israel to meaningfully shape the outcome.
A senior Israeli official warned, “We are at a critical turning point in the nuclear negotiations. The U.S. may be rushing to strike regional deals, but that must not come at the expense of Israeli security.”
Israel has reportedly submitted a list of demands to the White House, including the dismantling of Iran’s uranium enrichment infrastructure, deactivation of its centrifuges, and strict limits on the development of ballistic missiles.
