In a horrific massacre, Israeli occupation forces bombed and set fire to displacement tents in the Al-Mawasi area west of Khan Younis, Gaza, killing dozens of civilians, most of them women and children, near the Kuwait Specialized Field Hospital.
According to Palestinian sources, at least 24 displaced Palestinians were burned alive after Israeli airstrikes targeted their makeshift tents, igniting massive fires that consumed everything inside.
Survivors tried desperately to extinguish the flames with sand and whatever tools they had—amid a total lack of water, firefighting equipment, or emergency services.

The scenes that followed were devastating—charred bodies, screams of injured children, and a father digging through ashes to rescue his severely burned son.
The Kuwait Specialized Field Hospital, located near the site of the attack, also sustained heavy damage from the surrounding bombardment. In a statement, hospital officials confirmed that the surgical operating room has completely ceased functioning due to the destruction.
The hospital reported:
-
- A complete failure of its electric generators and main control panels.
-
- Severe damage across most departments, including emergency and critical care units.
The administration renewed its urgent appeal to international organizations and humanitarian bodies to uphold international law, which strictly prohibits the targeting of medical facilities and mandates their protection in times of war.
This massacre adds to a growing list of war crimes committed by the Israeli military since the start of its genocidal campaign in Gaza on October 7, 2023. The attack also highlights the deliberate targeting of civilians, especially those who had been told to seek refuge in so-called “safe zones” like Al-Mawasi.
As of now, over 173,000 Palestinians have been killed or wounded in Gaza—most of them women and children—while more than 11,000 remain missing, buried beneath rubble or lost in chaos.
