Saudi officials raised Ka`bah kiswa (specially decorated garment) as a precautionary measure to prevent people from damaging it during the pilgrimage season.
The Kiswa was lifted three meters off the ground and replaced with a white cloth, only for the Hajj season, to prevent damage, Saudi Press Agency reported.
Specialised teams carried out the raising process according to precise procedures that respected the sanctity of the place and upheld the highest standards of safety and professionalism.

In the previous years, they used to raise Kiswa on the first day of Dhul Hijjah as an announcement of the advent of the rite and an indication of the beginning of the holy days.

Hajj 2025 will commence on 4th June and will continue till 9th June 2025; in the evening time.
