In a powerful display of military retaliation, Pakistan has launched Operation Al-Bunyan Al-Marsous, targeting Indian military positions in a rapid escalation of the Indo-Pak conflict. The move comes just days after Indian strikes left dozens of Pakistani civilians dead and injured — a campaign Islamabad has labelled “deliberate aggression.”
The operation began at dawn with precision strikes on Indian military installations, including Pathankot and Udhampur air bases. As airspace was shut down nationwide, footage circulated online showed Pakistani missiles hitting their targets, sending a strong message to New Delhi.

In a parallel development, Pakistan’s military announced the downing of 77 Israeli-made attack drones operated by India. The announcement was made by Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, spokesperson for the Pakistani Armed Forces, during a press briefing that addressed the unfolding regional crisis.
“These drones were being used not just for surveillance but for targeted strikes,” Chaudhry said. “We neutralised them to protect our sovereignty and our civilians.”
His comments raise serious geopolitical questions over India’s military collaboration with Israel, particularly regarding drone warfare in Muslim regions like Kashmir.
Civilian Casualties and Indian Escalation
According to Chaudhry, the death toll from recent Indian attacks on Pakistani territory has climbed to 33 civilians, with at least 62 wounded. He accused New Delhi of “deliberate targeting of civilian zones” in clear violation of international norms.
When asked about India’s claim of downing Pakistani jets or eliminating terror bases within Pakistani borders, Chaudhry fired back:
“Let them show a single piece of wreckage if they speak the truth.”
He confirmed that no Pakistani soldiers were killed, though there were injuries. “If India seeks escalation,” he warned, “we are ready — and we will be the ones who finish what they foolishly start.”
Surgical Strikes or Fabricated Narratives?
Indian media previously reported that Pakistan had struck ammunition depots in Jammu and Kashmir, a claim swiftly denied by Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry, labelling it “false and baseless.”
Instead, Islamabad maintains that its response has been strategic, defensive, and proportionate, focused solely on Indian military infrastructure involved in cross-border aggression.
The Spark: Indian Strike on Pakistani Civilians
The current round of conflict was triggered by India’s missile strikes on May 6, which it claimed were in retaliation for an April 22 attack in Pahalgam, Indian-occupied Kashmir, that killed 26 Indian nationals. India alleged the involvement of “terror hideouts” in Pakistani territory.
But Pakistan’s account tells a very different story:
-
- 6 civilian sites were hit, not military positions.
-
- 33 civilians killed, many of them women and children.
-
- 5 Indian warplanes shot down during the exchange — still unconfirmed by Indian authorities.
Rising Tensions, Global Implications
The use of Israeli-made drones by India in Muslim-majority regions like Kashmir and across the border into Pakistan has inflamed sentiments across the Islamic world. Pakistan’s military response — strategic and highly coordinated — sends a signal not only to India, but to the global players arming it.
With the region on edge and both nuclear powers exchanging fire, the question is no longer if a broader confrontation could erupt — but when, and how far it might go.
Final Thought: Sovereignty Is Not Terrorism
What India brands as a “war on terror” increasingly resembles a war on civilians, resistance, and Islamic self-determination. For many across the Muslim world, Pakistan’s response is not an act of provocation — it is an act of defence.
As tensions grow in Kashmir and beyond, the Ummah must remain alert. Because every drone shot down is not just a tactical victory — it’s a statement: the age of one-sided aggression is over.
