Al-Huneiti confirmed that the process of reinforcing the border frontlines with specialized forces is ongoing to ensure the achievement of the armed forces’ mission to defend the kingdom’s borders.
This visit and Al-Huneiti’s decision to strengthen the borders come amidst rising security tensions in the region, particularly with the ongoing threats from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to strike Syria and penetrate deeper into its territory.
Recently, King Abdullah II emphasized, during his meeting with Syrian President Ahmed al-Shara, the importance of closely coordinating with Syria to address border security challenges, particularly in efforts to curb the smuggling of weapons and drugs.
