Iran has revealed that the Israeli occupation forces used Iraqi airspace to carry out airstrikes on Iranian military sites early Saturday. Iran’s mission to the United Nations held the United States accountable, accusing it of complicity in enabling these strikes.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Iran’s UN mission stated, “Iraqi airspace is under the occupation, control, and management of the U.S. military. The result: confirmed U.S. complicity in this crime.”

Details of the Israeli Assault and Iran’s Response
The Israeli military declared the end of its attack on Iran after a four-hour operation early Saturday. Iran confirmed that its defenses successfully repelled “the Zionist entity’s attempts to strike specific targets in Tehran and other areas.”
In a video statement, Israeli military spokesperson Daniel Hagari confirmed the end of the operation, stating, “I can now confirm that we have completed the Israeli response to Iranian attacks against Israel.”
Meanwhile, Iranian state media outlets IRNA and Tasnim reported that four Iranian soldiers were killed in the assault. Prior to this, Iran’s air defense had stated it intercepted attempts by “the Zionist entity” to target various sites within Tehran and across the country, as confirmed by an Iranian air defense official through the IRNA news agency.
Iran’s revelation of Israeli use of Iraqi airspace and the accusation of U.S. complicity reflect rising tensions and underscore the complex dynamics of regional power struggles in the face of persistent aggression.
