Their credibility gradually eroded until it diminished through the acts of submissions of those who call themselves scholars, especially the Wahhabi scholars such as al-Arifi and al-Qarni, in addition to the scholars of the “Ikhwanj” such as al-Qaradawi, Wasim Yawsam and Amr Khaled, affiliated with the court of rulers, until their role diminished to be summarized as mere platforms for the legitimacy of corruption and crimes in various ways to society.

To say that the official class of scholars in the Gulf and the Arab world in general has never lost its credibility in modern history as it is today, is not an exaggeration at all.
Especially in Saudi Arabia, the alliance between the Saudi family (Al Saud), which formed the political authority of the country, and the Al Sheikh family that represented the application of the Wahhabi clerics and religious authority, and the founder of the Wahhabi religion, Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab, contributed to legitimizing the decisions taken by the religious authority.
The Saudi administration is already aware that the legitimacy of its political system has been largely linked to its position in the Islamic world, especially its pledge to protect holy sites, since the era of the founding king, and that religious scholars have always represented the most important element in its application of the monarchy and support its legitimacy at home and abroad.
