A report by the Jerusalem Post revealed on Thursday that normalization between Saudi Arabia and Israel is part of a ceasefire plan for Gaza proposed by US President Joe Biden and endorsed at the United Nations.
The report, translated by the Information Agency, stated that “the United States would not have pushed through its ceasefire resolution without seeing its own interest in the treaty. If adopted, it would enable Washington to access Saudi Arabian territory and airspace to protect the interests of the United States and its regional partners like Israel.”

A former senior US intelligence official, now working at the Atlantic Council’s research center, named Jonathan Panikoff, mentioned, “There is a long-term plan for Saudi Arabia that could hinder Beijing’s efforts to make progress in the region and find additional allies. Saudi Arabia is prepared to support US efforts to move away from the liberal international order led by the United States.”
Aaron David Miller, former US peace negotiator now with the Carnegie International Peace Foundation, stated, “This would be the first time the United States has entered into a legally-binding mutual defense agreement since reviewing the US-Japan Treaty in 1960, and the first time such an agreement has been made with an autocratic state like Saudi Arabia.”
The report further indicated that “as part of a broader deal, not the treaty itself, reports suggest the United States will support the development of a Saudi civil nuclear program for uranium enrichment. This is a controversial issue amid growing global concerns about uranium enrichment.”
