Saudi Arabia launches the trial of aerial taxis

Today, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia launched the trial of autonomous aerial taxis in the holy sites. According to the Saudi Press Agency “SPA,” the trial, inaugurated by His Excellency Engineer Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority of Civil Aviation in Saudi Arabia, and implemented for the first time, included the vertical takeoff of the electric aerial taxi, which is the world’s first licensed aerial taxi by the Civil Aviation Authority.

The electric aerial taxi is intended to provide services to the pilgrims of the Holy Kaaba by transporting them between the holy sites, in emergency situations, transporting medical equipment, and providing logistical services through cargo transportation.
