Imprisonment, pain and the appearance of those who said they are the Awliya of Allah, the story of Abdel Qader’s song by Cheb Khaled, which has become the forefront of Rai songs performance and fame since its launch in 1999 and was sung by Algerian artists Cheb Khaled and Rashid Taha.
The song turned into a simple folk poem in its meanings, after it came out of the famous Lambaz prison of Batna, eastern Algeria, and crossed the boundaries of the place. It became a popular singing icon in the Maghreb and many Arab countries, and artists who sang it without knowing the true story behind it.
In a previous press interview, published by the Algerian site, the author of the song, the lyric poet Hajj Zaghada, and his me, Al-Warshani, said: The story of the song, which is his story, back in1989 when he was imprisoned in the Blambaz on political background, and his prison days were long and he felt very anxious.
Zaghada saw in his sleep Sheikh Muhyi Al-Din Abdul Qadir Al-Jilani, who is related to him, and he came to him in his dream to relieve him of the torment that he faced. And Abdul Qadir Jilani is Muhammad Abdul Qadir bin Musa bin Abdullah, known and nicknamed in the Maghreb heritage as Sheikh Boualem Jilani, and in the East, Abdul Qadir al-Jilani, also known as “Sultan of the Awliya,” is a Sufi imam and Hanbali jurist, to whom the Qadiriyya Sufi order belongs.
Al-Jilani asked him to call upon the names of Awliya of Allah
When Zaghada complained to Al-Jilani of his loneliness, he asked him to write a poem for him and include in it the names of all the righteous Awliya of Allah whom he hears about.
And Allah will release him, and thus Al-Warshani began writing the poem, which he began by begging his grandfather Abdul Qadir to Allah, and then all the Awliya.
Abd al-Qadir, Bualam, al-Jilani, and other Sufis used to ask Allah in the duaa through the Awliya, so he asked him in his poetry to ask Allah for him to relieve his distress
According to his account, he was released after a few days, and then he turned the poem into a song to commemorate it.
