An update to the game “Fortnite” sparked controversy in many Arab countries, which includes the demolition of the Kaabah and the killing of worshipers in it.
The team responsible for managing the famous “Fortnite” game issued a clarification regarding reports that it included an update forcing players to enter the Great Mosque of Mecca, killing worshipers and then demolishing the Kaabah.
The team said in a post on its Facebook page for the Middle East, that “the content referred to was an island made by a player in the “Creative” mode, where on the island you cannot destroy the Kaabah.”
He added, “We would like to emphasize that our team respects the religion of Islam and we work closely with the content creators of the game from our players in order to provide a safe gaming experience for all our players.”
Al-Azhar Center said in a statement posted on its Facebook page that it had previously warned against some electronic games that kidnap the minds of young people, “lock them in virtual worlds away from reality, develop violent behaviors, and incite them to hate and harm themselves or others.”
Then the center specifically warned of the game “Fortnite”, which caused frequent incidents of violence, killing and suicide, and then finally showed the Kaaba in a humiliating manner.
In this regard, we would like to point out to the reader that any statement or act that insults or humiliates the rituals of God, such as the Kaabah, is apostasy from Islam, and the perpetrator must repent by pronouncing the two testimonies to return to Islam. Not saying I ask forgiveness of God “Astaghfiru-LLAH”.
